As Long As We Live
Let the morning break on gentle seas,
With winds that hum soft symphonies.
Let every dawn be quiet and kind,
And take every bitterness with it.
Let happiness light up empty rooms,
And love grow where kindness
and timelessness become opulence.
Let not the fray of sanity
bind children to cages,
nor the yearning to dream
be stifled by strictures.
Let strangers greet with open hearts,
Let kindness bloom like firelight in a cold room.
Let children dream with no restraints,
While ancient wisdom, wild and free,
guides both the young and old with grace,
a light for all who seek to be.
Let not the weight of gold or precious stones
define the worth of souls
or how we shine.
The lost shackles of pride
whisper prayers;
let mercy reign where pride once stood,
and justice work the way it should.
Let peace be more than just words, let it be woven,
A psalm not whispered, but boldly proclaimed.
Let hope not dwindle, but be radiant.
“May we live as long as we want,
And never want as long as we live.”
