Echoes of us
A thousand whispers stir the quiet night,
Faint traces of a love that once burned bright.
The moon stands witness, its glow subdued,
To a tale of hearts now far removed.
Once, your laughter lit the darkest skies,
Now silence speaks where our goodbye lies.
Each step away, a hollow refrain,
Breaking the dreams we couldn’t sustain.
Your touch, once fire, now a fleeting trace,
A memory etched in time’s embrace.
The colors have dimmed, the warmth has fled,
Leaving shadows where joy once tread.
Still, the heart clings to what cannot stay,
Yet knows it must journey another way.
For love remains, a bittersweet song,
A melody lost but not yet gone.
Here I stand, among the ruins we made,
Piecing together what heartbreak decayed.
For though the pain lingers, it won’t define,
The strength I’ll find in this heart of mine.
The Pen That Never Runs Dry
